The Barn Swallow (Hirundo rustica) is the most abundant and widely distributed swallow species in the world. It breeds throughout the northern hemisphere and winters in much of the southern hemisphere.

Eastertide angel gathering eggs, surrounded by chicks - a Victorian style Easter greeting card illustration, circa 1911. Since we are only about two weeks away from Easter, I've decided to share some recent restorations on an Easter theme. This image was scanned from my personal collection and the color rest ored (digitally remastered). I also retouched it to remove scratches, cracks, smudges and age spots. This is typically about a 3 hour process. See the complete series below.
